10 Simple Ways To Make The Perfect Dragon Ball Z Game
3. Make Special Attacks Spectacular
Dragon Ball fights are visual spectacles, and the high point is always the over the top world-shattering energy attacks, such as Gokus Spirit Bomb, Friezas Death Ball, and Vegetas Final Flash, to name but a few. Yet few Dragon Ball games have done justice to the spectacular nature of these attacks. Most of the time they are too easily spammed and lack any proper feeling of power or devastation. In a better Dragon Ball game these special attacks would operate the same way they do in the show. Every blast needs to hit something, and you should be able to see its effects on whatever it hits, be it an opponent or the environment itself. They should be less frequent but more powerful, and cause over the top devastation. If two opponents fire energy attacks at the same time, there should be a struggle that determines who comes out on top. Special attacks should be given the proper gravitas they deserve. Every instance of their use should be a dramatic event that can turn the tide of battle. Not enough Dragon Ball games do this, but if one did, it would be significant step towards making a better game.
