In an industry where graphic fidelity has reached whole new levels of immersive realism, indie masterpiece To The Moon proved all that’s needed to tell a remarkable story is a lot of heart.

This game sees players take control of Eva and Neil. Their job is to fulfil the dying wishes of their clients by entering and reliving their memories in a fashion not dissimilar to Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. Johnny, they’re latest client, wishes to go to the moon, however they’re not able to work out where this desire comes from.

What follows is a series of interactive segments in which players observe key moments of Johnny’s life in reverse chronological order, recounting his marriage with his teenage sweetheart, River.

To expand on the plot any further would drastically ruin the tender narrative to come and, more importantly, the significance of the title.

Bolstered by a sweeping score co-composed by co-creator Ken Gao, To The Moon is a heartbreaking examination of love and remembrance that will grip players throughout its relatively short playtime.

By the time the final pieces of the puzzle are solved, the game hits players with a bombshell revelation that's guaranteed to leave thm in tears.
