10 Star Trek Games Paramount Should Develop

Listen, Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks opened this can of zombie worms, not us.

And we're not saying every Star Trek game should suddenly be crawling with the undead, but now that the door has been kicked open, it's rude not to burst through it with a highly improbable makeshift weapon.

Now, we're not talking about a spine-chilling zombie game here. The VR game Star Trek: Infection already has that covered, and it seems like the upcoming Star Trek: Shadow Frontier is set to deliver a darker and more intense horror experience. But think how much fun fighting through hordes of Star Trek zombies would be, with over-the-top action and a splash of dark humour.

A Starfleet space station would be the perfect setting; large enough to make trekking from one location to another challenging, but claustrophobic enough to feel cornered. Think escort missions through zombie-packed promenades...saving NPCs in fast-moving side quests...and of course, surviving long enough for rescue or finding a way to escape.

We'd jump at the chance to take down the shambling undead with an iconic phaser rifle, but if phasers only held a limited charge, it would open the game to a rough-and-ready crafting mechanic. Cobbling weapons together from whatever you can get your hands on would add a sense of chaos to the game and keep it suitably tongue-in-cheek. All we ask is that somewhere, hidden away, is a Bat'leth with our name on it.
