10 Star Trek Games Paramount Should Develop

4. Quark's Emporium Simulator

Welcome to Quark's Emporium. With sky-high prices and no guarantees, it has everything you could ever dream of...for the right price. Just don't ask where the stock came from.

There's been a recent surge in the popularity of management games. Supermarket simulators, café simulators, theme park simulators, even video rental simulators. And seeing as the Rules of Acquisition are practically a management game in their own right, why not launch a Star Trek store simulator? Ferengi style.

The player could start with a run-down hovel, part of the Quark's Emporium franchise. Slowly but surely, you'd build your business, grow your store, decorate to your heart's content and stock an expanding line of familiar canon products.

Alongside the usual day-to-day tasks required to run your emporium, you'd have to contend with spiralling franchise fees, ridiculous Ferengi mark-ups, hiring and firing staff, and perhaps even messages from Quark himself, either congratulating you or ridiculing your progress.

With increasing pressure to reach daily profit targets, you'd have to balance cunning solutions with the possible consequences. Took that deal from a black-market supplier? Get ready for a surprise inspection. Raised the prices of souvenirs when that hu-maan ship stopped by? Brace yourself for customer complaints. Accepted a dodgy loan that sounded too good to be true? Spend the latinum and pray you don't go bankrupt.

Just remember Rule of Acquisition 62: the riskier the road, the greater the profit.
