Roster updates comprise the bulk of WWE's historical downloadable content because of course they do. It's an annual sports title; such updates are a normality and, above all else, a desire - but it wasn't always strictly fresh Superstars.

In WWE 13, the final WWE video game produced by THQ, there was an assortment of modern and retro WWE Superstars available to buy, alongside Create-A-Superstar parts and the inaugural Moves Pack, but there was also a pack of ten championships. Released alongside the WWE Superstars pack two months after the base game released, the pack contained a range of titles from WWE, WCW, ECW, and AWA.

John Cena's custom WWE United States Championship, the WCW World Heavyweight (nWo-branded), United States Heavyweight, World Cruiserweight, Hardcore, and World Tag Team Championships, the ECW World Heavyweight, World Television, and World Tag Team Championships, and the AWA World Heavyweight Championship were the belts on offer, the latter being the most eye-catching. WWE rarely mentions Verne Gagne's defunct American Wrestling Association, with its existence now stemming solely via the WWE Network, so to see its classic championship digitised was bizarre, if not astonishing.

It remains the only championship from the pack to not remain in WWE games' championship vault.
