10 Things Only Disney Infinity Fans Will Understand

6. Skylanders Is Silly

Let's be clear here... Yes, Activision got there first, and Disney blatantly ripped off the idea - that's beyond discussion. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that Disney took a good idea and made it infinitely better. There are a few reasons why Disney Infinity is the superior "plastic figurine sucked into video game" product, and chief among them is the selection of characters. Uncle Walt has been knocking out animated (and live action) classics since before the Second World War, pumping out memorable heroes, heroines and villains one after the other. And the output has grown exponentially over the past decade or two - Disney Pixar are behind the biggest and best animated films, and it doesn't look like that's going to change soon. What does Skylanders have? Spyro the silly little dragon, and a huge pile of generic unremarkable monster creatures. There's no way you can even compare the two games based on the strength of their characters. Skylanders still pulls in big money, but the branding of Activision's cash cow doesn't carry the same weight is Disney, and the Skylanders figurines are also significantly less desirable in terms of build quality. No one cares for tacky metallic paints and plastics anymore, Activision. Disney, on the other hand, got it exactly right with the Disney Infinity figurines. Which brings us neatly to number 5 on our list...
