10 Things Only Disney Infinity Fans Will Understand

5. Figurine Build Quality

If you want to tap into the collector mentality, you need to know what makes us tick. Disney cracked that code on a number of levels with Disney Infinity, but nowhere with more precision than with the physical figurines themselves. There's something just so desirable about them, they are the kind of toys which just beg to be touched, stroked, held gently. Once you've slammed your cash down on the store counter and they've handed you your package, the act of peeling open the cardboard backing and then prying the figure from its plastic enclosure is almost euphoria inducing. We've covered that new toy smell already, and that goes hand in hand with the build quality of the little characters. The creators chose the perfect plastic compound here - it's hard but feels soft to touch because of a subtle matte finish. The character models are also so perfectly matched to their film counterparts. In situations where the film style fits the Infinity style, they look like they jumped out of the screen - Wreck-It Ralph, for example, it an inch-by-inch replica, it seems. They've also done a stellar job of taking live action characters, like Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, and turning them into Infinity-esque caricatures.
