10 Things In Outer Wilds That Will Blow Your Mind

4. The Quantum Moon Problem

One of the best feelings anyone experiences in a game is figuring out a genuinely intelligent puzzle on your own. I expect hearing my cheer at 1am after figuring this one out was very annoying for my neighbours. But for me it was worth the late night.

The puzzle is split in two. Firstly you have to get onto the disappearing planet. A logic puzzle that stumped me for a whole hour. The implicit reward came eventually, with the intelligence of the puzzle landing impressively. Secondly you must reach the pole of the moon using a teleporting tower, equally if not more rewarding.

The story developments gained here are the puzzle's real reward. A heart warming inkling into the Nomadic space explorer life and the motivation for the Nomai and their endeavours. It was more than enough. It hits surprisingly hard when you discover the significance the moon plays in the lives of the Nomai too.

This place leaves a genuine impression and an understanding for the race of the Nomai needed to build rapport. As well as a lasting excitement upon actually getting there that is hard to forget.
