10 Things Star Wars Games ALWAYS Get Wrong

3. The Rule Of Two

Master to embody the power, and an Apprentice to covet it: The "Rule of Two" is a fundamental tenet of the Sith.

Before Darth Bane invoked this decree (which is easy if you've already killed everyone), the Sith ranks were rampant with manipulation, plotting, and literal back-stabbing.

Following this mandate, the Sith worked quietly in the shadows, hiding their presence, passing their knowledge to subsequent iterations, orchestrating the events which would culminate in Order 66 and the destruction of the Jedi.

Cut to the games, and it's red lightsabers for everyone.

Whether it's Jerec and his dark acolytes in Jedi Knight, Desann and his myriad Sith warriors in its sequel, or the Imperial Inquisitors of Fallen Order, lightsaber and dark side wielding rank and file are commonplace in Star Wars games.

Obviously, to propagate this rule, there must inevitably be a third at some stage as the apprentice looks to take on their own student and overthrow their master.

For this reason, the likes of Starkiller and Asajj Ventress do not necessarily contravene the rule, but it would be great to see a Star Wars game buck the trend of dark side-wielding legions and adhere more closely to the more clandestine lore of the Sith.
