10 Things WWE 2K21's REAL Replacement Needs To Fix

9. Commentary

Imagine if you were watching Raw, and Seth Rollins hit a Stomp on Rey Mysterio, and Tom Phillips referred to the move as a Superkick. He would be booted from the announce desk faster than you can say "future endeavours." Well that's nearly every match in WWE 2K20.

This kind of gaffe is just one of many involving commentary in WWE 2K20. Michael Cole will often say something to Corey Graves along the lines of "Tell us about Cesaro." This is followed by a brief pause, before Graves will blurt out a line about a completely unrelated topic. These kinds of errors are unforgivable, and go to reflect the general lack of polish that has come to plague recent WWE games.

Furthermore, would it kill 2K to add a bit of variety to commentary? WWE have a plethora of commentary talent at their disposal, such as Tom Phillips, Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness, however in 2K20, fans get just Michael Cole, Byron Saxton and Corey Graves. Hearing Michael Cole commentate on an NXT match between Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano is jarring, and undermines the otherwise stellar presentation, which generally does a good job of making you feel like you’re watching a WWE broadcast.

At this point, hearing "He's putting those educated feet to good use!" would be a relief.
