10 Times Drinking Went Horribly Wrong In Video Games
1. GTA IV - Champangne Drinking Contest
This challenge is available in Grand Theft Auto IV's well-received expansion story, The Ballad of Gay Tony. The player, having swapped Niko Bellic for Luis Fernando Lopez is challenged to a drinking contest by the patrons upstairs in Maisonette 9. The aim is to chug a bottle of champagne quicker than your rival, using a series of analogue stick or mouse movements.
Victory is ultimately hollow however, as there is no tangible reward for winning in this way, asides from the amusement caused as your controller inputs cease to bear any real relation to what is happening on screen. GTA IV's slightly uncanny physics adds to the comedic effect as you proceed to ragdoll down the stairs and flail ineffectively on and around the dancefloor.
Luis can shake this off relatively quickly and is free to engage in further contests with drinkers inside the club. We would advise full pads and a helmet next time.
