10 Times You Secretly Made The Game Harder (And Didn't Even Realize)
8. Ogres Like Women A Little Too Much - Dragon's Dogma
Dragon's Dogma is full of hidden little details that you usually discover only after they have already made an impact on your campaign.
One of them is the fact that playing as a woman secretly makes it harder to fight ogres.
Although your character's gender doesn't affect any stats or abilities, there are a few instances when the difference between playing as a man or a woman matters quite significantly.
The most notable example of this is ogres. Although the game doesn't tell you this at any point, ogres have a preference for female flesh, and their peculiar tastes will send them into a frenzy whenever they spot a feminine character.
They will immediately charge at the player if they are female and then attempt to swallow you whole, rapidly damaging your health in their maws until you're dead.
This makes progressing through any ogre-riddled sections significantly harder for feminine heroes, especially since ogres don't tend to travel alone.
Fun fact: if you play a male and dress in feminine clothing, the ogres will also charge to devour you, but unlike with women, they will quickly spit you out afterward.
Apparently, they can tell the difference between male and female flesh, which is pretty disturbing and gross.
