The betrayal is dependent on how you resolved Iron Bull's personal mission. He will turn on you if you got all of his squad killed, but also, surprisingly enough, if you didn't bother to start the mission at all, even if you have more than positive relations with him.
Should Iron Bull be displeased with you, towards the end of the Trespasser DLC he will appear right before the last boss fight and attack you. He can even turn on your party if he's part of it during the mission, making the entire final section significantly harder!
So yes, don't forget to help out your Iron Bull in need. It might just spare you from screaming for help when he decides you're not worthy of his loyalty.
