8. Stories Untold

Marketed on Steam as a narrative-driven and experimental adventure game, Stories Untold is a unique experience which combines classic text-adventure with genres such as point-and-click.

With an 80s retro style which will have some players reminiscing about the simple times of creepily holding a boombox outside a girl’s home, it is a tense and psychological game of four interactive and brief episodes.

Overall, the story isn’t incredibly original, but it’s the way in which it is presented that makes it gripping. Each episode ends on a cliff-hanger, and while each individual story may not seem connected at first, you soon understand that there is an overarching mystery to be solved.

As fans of Telltale games, you will enjoy every moment of Stories Untold because of it being interactive and character focused. It is a brilliantly subversive and distinct nightmare which captures the retro feeling of the 80s with its inspired soundtrack, one which will undoubtedly make you yearn for the horror movies of the past.

Nothing exists quite like it, and it is rare for a horror/sci-fi game to have an earned conclusion which is both dramatic and distressing.
