10 Unexpected Times You Found Something Awesome In Video Games
3. Futurama's Seymour Fossil - Fallout: New Vegas
If you're a Futurama fan and stumbled across this Easter egg while playing the Lonesome Road DLC, you probably fell off your chair in shock, or in the very least started crying some totally-manly tears.
With the Wild Wasteland trait equipped, players who visit the Cave of the Abaddon and venture to the right-hand side will find not only the remains of one Sunflower Summers, but also a fossilised dog named Seymour.
Seymour will be instantly familiar to even the most casual Futurama fan, because he was Fry's heartbreakingly loyal pet dog, who after Fry was accidentally frozen, waited for Fry to return for the remaining 12 years of his life...which Fry of course never did.
And thanks to a seemingly harmless Easter egg, all those long-healed emotional sores are ripped open once again.
On one hand, it's an awesome Easter egg that slots perfectly into the world of Fallout, but on the other, it's a brutal reminder of one of the most traumatic moments in the history of television, animated or otherwise.
