10 Upcoming 2016 Video Game Moments We Can’t Wait To Play
7. Pulling Off A Glory Kill - Doom
If there's one gameplay aspect that many first-person shooters rarely innovate with, it's the melee mechanics. It's usually just one or two animations with your character taking out an opponent simply and quickly. Doom wishes to stand out in this regard, with their glory kills promising a whole lot of gory fun for players to appreciate.
These glory kills can be done once an enemy body attains an orange glow during combat. What happens next is a melee finisher fitting for the conclusion of a Mortal Kombat match. Everything from splitting heads to other gruesome alternatives are fair game as these glory kills occur quickly and brutally.
As anyone that's played the multiplayer beta can tell you, these glory kills are immensely satisfying, and remain that way without ruining the rapid flow of the game. Sure, there's plenty of fun to be had with the gunplay. However, if the enemy starts to glow with an orange hue, don't hesitate to go in for the glory kill. It's very violent, but hey, that's Doom for you.
