10 Upcoming Single Player Games You Should Be Excited About
4. Silent Hill 2 Remake
Silent Hill 2 is, without any exaggeration, one of the most influential horror games ever made. Aside from a controversial HD Collection, though, there hasn't been a way to revisit this masterpiece on modern consoles.
That is until Konami unveiled that this survival horror classic would be getting the remake treatment during their Transmission stream in October 2022, a move which has brought the beloved franchise back from the dead after the abrupt cancellation of Kojima’s Silent Hills project.
While Konami haven’t given a concrete release date yet, the prospect of entering the titular, mist-covered town as protagonist James Sunderland will allow returning fans to re-live the psychological terror all over again while giving newcomers what looks to be the best way to experience the game for the first time.
From the teaser trailer, it’s evident that this game looks incredible. Developers Bloober Team (The Medium, Observer) have done an outstanding job in recapturing the chilling atmosphere that envelopes the town. Their past work has demonstrated that they know how to make a horror game, meaning that this remake is in excellent hands.
Even more exciting, original art designer Masahiro Ito and composer Akira Yamaoka are attached to the remake, too.
