10 Upcoming Single Player Games You Should Be Excited About
3. Alan Wake II
It’s been over a decade since players last set foot in the picturesque town of Bright Falls after defeating the darkness that overtook it as troubled, titular writer Alan Wake. Since then, though, the author has been left in the nightmarish depths of the Dark Place in a cliffhanger ending that’s kept fans eagerly waiting to find out what happens next.
Fans will therefore be delighted to hear that Remedy have announced the long-awaited sequel, and it's coming out later this year.
Though there’s still little that’s known about what to expect in this follow-up, the snippets that have been unveiled are nothing short of intriguing.
Most notably, Alan Wake II will be a full-on horror game, which makes it the studio's first survival horror title. While the first game contained some horror elements, fans can expect the author's next outing to be a different kind of terrifying.
This is also set to be Remedy's most ambitious game yet in terms of the themes and ideas it tackles. Given the studio's history of experimentation and flair for storytelling, there's no telling what sort of madness Sam Lake and his team have in store. Whatever that may be, it's certain to be worth the wait.
