10 Upcoming Video Games That Will DEFINITELY Be Cross-Gen
8. Final Fantasy VII Remake
We do appear to be in the age of reboot and remake, and while that’s certainly getting old in some areas, Final Fantasy VII gets a bit of a pass.
It’s one of the most iconic games ever, so the remake which promises to upgrade the graphics and iron out some of the flaws in the original is definitely in demand.
This was long thought to be a dead cert for the PS5, likely coming to PS4 as well to sweep up any players yet to adopt the new console. A recent State Of Play from Square Enix and an update on PlayStation’s blog changes things though.
Square Enix casually labelled it a PS4 game, putting to bed any rumours it was set to skip this generation to focus solely on the next. Many have taken this to believe it won’t be coming to the PS5 at all, but with precious little seen of the game so far, it faces a huge rush to beat the PS5 out the door.
Hopefully that means it’s coming to both and Square Enix just didn’t want the rumour to fester.
Either that or it’ll release solely on the PS4 but after the PS5 is released, which seems a bit naff.
