10 Video Game Achievements That RUIN The Game
3. Master Criminal - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
"Master Criminal" is an achievement in Skyrim that is granted to those players who manage to acquire 1000 gold bounties in all nine provinces of Skyrim.
Getting the achievement is as easy as walking into a city, killing a random NPC in front of everyone, and then running away before the guards can throw you in prison. Rinse and repeat nine times, and you're done.
Yeah, ironically, it doesn't really take a criminal mastermind to become a "Master Criminal."
However, although the process is stupidly easy, it's actually the consequences of getting the achievement that are the tricky part. Because a bounty of 1000 gold is just enough for guards to attack you on sight, as soon as you return to the provinces you've wronged, you're going to have to fend off entire armies of Nords with arrows in their knees every single time you enter a city.
Unless you pay off your bounty, the attacks will make it impossible to start new missions, talk with merchants, or even visit your own houses. Which means you'll have to cough up 9000 gold total or spend an ungodly amount of time in jail if you want to return to playing Skyrim normally.
Crime really doesn't pay.
