10 Video Game Achievements That RUIN The Game

2. Dance With The Devil - Spore

The final goal of any Spore run is to reach the center of the galaxy. To do this, you first have to get through the territory of the game's enigmatic boogeymen, the Grox, who attack anyone who dares enter their space and who are generally very hostile to any and all living things.

The obvious approach to dealing with the Grox is combat, but if your species prefers more diplomatic approaches, there is actually a way to befriend the Grox.

It even comes with a special badge called "Dance With The Devil."

Befriending the Grox is excruciating work, requiring huge amounts of resources, sacrifices, and even breaking the Galactic Laws by using weapons of mass destruction. By the end of it all, your empire will definitely be worse for wear, but at least your new alliance with the mighty Grox empire is worth it.

Right? Why else would they make an achievement for it?

Well, for starters, to lure you into making a terrible decision. As soon as the Grox agree to be your allies/overlords, every single empire in the galaxy will immediately declare you a dangerous outlaw and go to war with you.

Your entire campaign; that is the price of peace.
