10 Video Game Bosses That Are Almost IMPOSSIBLE To Beat

3. Absolute Virtue - Final Fantasy XI

Being an MMORPG, there are intervals in Final Fantasy XI where you can take part in raid bosses, meaning you partner up with other players to fight a super-powerful enemy. Even though such bosses are impossible if faced alone, you can make short work of them as a team.

But if you intend to battle Absolute Virtue, you better cancel your plans for the next day or two.

That is not an exaggeration. Some raiders spent over 30 hours fighting this notorious monster... and they still couldn't beat him! When the developers noticed a grand total of zero people had defeated Absolute Virtue in three years, they nerfed the godling's power.

Even in his lesser state, Virtue is a nightmare to face. Once his health gets down to 59%, he summons twice as many Wyverns and boosts all his stats, making the second-half of the fight ten times harder.

The worst moment in the battle is when Virtue performs Benediction, which restores half his health, making the last hour or two you spent co-ordinating your attack completely pointless. Since Absolute Virtue can perform this enchantment multiple times, you can understand why so few gamers have beaten him, even after his difficulty was toned down.
