10 Video Game Characters Who Would Make A Great Superhero Team

2. Anna Grimsdóttir - Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Just as every team needs a leader, every team needs an Executive Officer, a second-in-command who manages day-to-day affairs and makes sure the leader has access to accurate intelligence. For our list, Anna ‘Grim’ Grimsdottir, specifically her Blacklist incarnation, fulfills that role.

Her qualifications speak for themselves. Personally recruited from the NSA into the elite Third Echelon by the director himself, she rose to position of technical director, then chief technical analyst, and ultimately to technical operations officer for Fourth Echelon, not to mention a stint as National Security Advisor.

Accordingly, she is the most technically competent person on this list, perhaps the most competent female character in gaming. And she needs to be: get her facts wrong and she could watch her team die in front of her. It is a high pressure job, but Grim is not called the Ice Queen for nothing: she is stern, unflappable and decisive, and in combat, a fearless, dead-eye shot.

She is to this team what Nick Fury is to the Avengers and Alfred Pennyworth is to Batman – the backbone of the enterprise. It is not the most glamorous job, but it is absolutely vital.
