10 Video Game Confessions We’re Not Proud Of

8. Reluctant Tears

Every single day people are dumped by their partners, fired from their jobs and fight in faraway lands for their liberty and here we are living our sheltered lives, crying at the sad bits in video games.

Whether it's because of the death of a beloved character (Lee's in The Walking Dead, Aeris' in FFVII, John Marston's in Red Dead Redemption) or because of a bittersweet moment (the ending of Okami!), sometimes we are powerless to prevent the flood-gates from opening. Of course on the occasions where a game is powerful enough to stir this sort of reaction we will always blame it on some dust in the room. Is it really such a bad thing to have cried in the middle of a game?

Life may be more expendable in video gaming compared to film and TV but this doesn't mean that we don't become attached to the characters when the story telling is on point. The fact that games are capable of inspiring this kind of emotional investment from the player is a testament to the artistry of the medium.
