10 Video Game Exclusives You NEVER Got Over Not Playing
8. Sly Cooper Series (PlayStation)
Many cherished older PlayStation brands have either made the leap to other systems or been properly remastered (or remade) for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
For instance, both The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II received PS5 upgrades and PC ports. Likewise, both God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök are also available on PC, and titles such as Death Stranding, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, and various Metal Gear Solid games are accessible on Xbox and/or Nintendo Switch, too.
One classic series that hasn’t gotten the same treatment, though, is the original Sly Cooper trilogy, and that’s a real shame.
Released mostly on the PlayStation 2 (the PS3 received a single entry, Thieves in Time, in 2013), all three stealth-action crime capers were highly enjoyable undertakings containing lovably quirky characters, fun dialogue, charming plots, and engaging gameplay. Therefore, countless kids, teens, and adults who didn’t have a PS2 back then missed out on one of the 2000s’ finest video game franchises.
Even more egregious, though, is the fact that none of the three have been successfully updated for newer PlayStation platforms, with the last physical release being 2010’s The Sly Collection (for PS3 and PS Vita) and the PlayStation Store versions (which contain new features) being criticized for their blurry textures and poor performances.
