Despite it sounding like a fun euphemism, riding the snake in Getting Over It is one of the least fun things you can do in the entire game.

Because, after a long, long (long) time repeatedly climbing and falling your way up the game, you'll be met with a warning sign: "DO NOT RIDE SNAKE". Should you choose to ignore this message - or accidentally hook onto it, as is more likely the case - you'll find yourself sliding down it and aaaaaall the way back to the start of the game. You know, the place you where many hours ago, that you struggled for an age to progress away from.

While it's masochistically hilarious to realise how effectively you just got punked, it'll be significantly less funny when you finally reach the same point again, and realise you could accidentally ride the snake more than once. In fact, because it's placed at a point that's easy to fall to, there's a pretty good chance you will - several times if you're especially unlucky.
