10 Video Game Fates So Hilarious They Were Horrifying
8. The Death Of The Evil King Blob - A Boy And His Blob
Anyone who has memories of playing the surreal A Boy and His Blob in their childhood is likely very, very lost when you mention the game had a final boss. This is because the layout of the levels were bizarre at best, almost requiring you to know what you needed to do and where you needed to go before you even got there.
But, yes, the game did indeed have a final boss - that of an evil King who looks a whole lot like your best buddy.
In order to defeat the King, you need to use your formless pal's ability to turn into a jack (don't think about it too much) in order to knock over a glass jar on a shelf above all of you. Breaking said jar then knocks a bunch of vitamins onto the King, which must kill him, as there's a very quick cut away which shows you, your buddy Blob, and the new King all standing together smiling.
Maybe we're supposed to think that the vitamins "fixed" the evil King, but given your pal is powered up by jellybeans, it seems more likely you gave this ruler an awful, awful end. Maybe those parents who said it wasn't a violent game never finished it?
