10 Video Game Franchises With ONE Game Everyone Hates

5. Silent Hill: Book Of Memories

While there are certainly a number of divisive entries in the Silent Hill franchise, there's only one which most everyone can't stand, and that's the PS Vita-exclusive Silent Hill: Book of Memories.

For starters, did anyone in their right mind ever want a dungeon crawler spin-off to the hit survival horror series? And even if you're willing to accept that this is basically a Diablo-like wearing a grimy Silent Hill skinsuit, it's not even a good take on that.

From the clunky controls to the mediocre visuals, generic gameplay, and utter lack of Silent Hill's signature atmosphere, this is a failure in every way that it could be - a baffling attempt to diversify the franchise which was loudly rejected by the fanbase.

The best thing that can be said about it is that it's playable, but when the rest of the series is right there, why would you put yourself through it?

That this was the final taste of Silent Hill fans had before Konami hibernated the franchise for an entire decade only makes it that much more exasperating.
