10 Video Game Good Deeds Worth Doing Every Time

8. Cicero Is A Bro - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Red Dead Redemption 2
Bethesda

If you join the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim, it's hard to talk about any kind of good. Both you and the rest of your wicked family make a living taking people's lives for a dark god of murder, so you can't expect to receive the option to show mercy, let alone be rewarded for it.

And yet, this is exactly what happens when you stay your blade at the most pivotal moment in the organization's storyline.

Shortly before, spoiler alert, the Dark Brotherhood is destroyed by the emperor's secret service, and the assassins suffer another smaller incident. The group's crazy jester, Cicero, decides that your leader, Astrid, has betrayed the Brotherhood's traditions and turns on your allies, hurting some of them before escaping to an abandoned sanctuary in Dawnstar.

After you chase the clown down, it turns out he has been gravely injured, and you get a choice—you can either kill him on the spot or spare him.

The former choice seems more logical, but if you show Cicero mercy, he will actually come back as a unique follower once the Brotherhood rebuilds in Dawnstar.

Considering most of your group is dead by that point, another murder buddy is very much welcome!
