10 Video Game Mini-Games Discovered YEARS Later

8. The 15 Puzzle - Final Fantasy

The original Final Fantasy was released way back in 1987, and while we can't put an exact number on when this square-sliding mini-game was found, it absolutely started showing up in gaming mags and, therefore playgrounds around the world, in the years following the game's release.

In the original NES version of Final Fantasy, the mini-game could be unlocked after obtaining the ship and then pressing the A and B buttons together 55 times.

Silly though it sounds, you'll then be presented with 15 numbered square tiles which need to be slid around until they're in numerical order.

Somewhat hilariously, though, the NES version of the game only gives you a mere 100 gil for your trouble.

This reward was increased in future ports of Final Fantasy though, where you could get as much as 10,000 gil depending on how fast you solved the puzzle.

This is far from the only secret mini-game in a Final Fantasy title, but being the first entry in the series and releasing as long ago as it did, it took a little while longer for players to find out about it.
