Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was released in June 2021, and a prototype mini-game remained hidden within the acclaimed platformer for four whole years until it was finally brought to light.

It's not even really fair to say that the mini-game was "discovered," given that it was ultimately revealed by the game's senior designer Grant Parker during a recent livestream.

As it turns out, if you go to Zurkie's - the bar in Rivet's dimension - you can play a mechanical bull-riding mini-game. The means for unlocking it, though, are esoteric enough that it's little surprise no players figured it out.

When you approach Zurkie's and see the "no weapons" signs, you need to shoot the left one five times, the right one four times, and the left one another 13 times.

Then when you enter Zurkie's and go over to the bull, you'll get a prompt to ride it.

The mini-game involves trying to keep a line in the middle of a bar while the bull moves around, though Parker stressed that with was only a basic sketch of what the full mini-game would've looked like, as is made obvious by the half-finished animations.

Parker added that he decided to spill the beans on the mini-game after he hadn't heard anything about players discovering it organically after four years.
