10 Video Game Moments Everyone Was Waiting For (That Didn't Happen)

7. Virtual Console On The Nintendo Switch

One of the absolute coolest features Nintendo have ever put out - especially on the all-emulating Wii U - was Virtual Console.

Letting you dive into Game Boy Advance ports, NES classics and everything in between, it was a dead cert that this feature would launch on the Switch. Access to your past library on the go? It was even assumed that simply because the functionality is so flawless on Wii U and 3DS, this was why Nintendo now wanted to charge a monthly fee to provide access.

And honestly, who has a better legacy of games than The Big N?

Cut to 2017, and not only were there no plans for an online service other than "We'll give you two NES/SNES games a month, with leaderboards!" as an announcement, but to this day the Virtual Console is nowhere to be seen.

It's assumed (yet again) that it'll come later this year when Switch Online launches properly in September, but honestly, why aren't Nintendo hyping this up every step of the way?
