10 Video Game Moments So Difficult They Were Just Unfair
2. Super Monkey Ball - The Glare On Expert 4
In Super Monkey Ball, you have to tilt the ball at various angles to control the speed and turning of your character. It's kind of similar to Marble Madness except it's brain-destroyingly difficult.
The series requires so much precision, it was used to test the efficiency of surgical doctors. (That's not a joke. That is an actual study performed by the surgeon, Dr. James Rosser). Some levels are so punishingly difficult, most players will beat them by taking advantage of a glitch or through blind luck rather than skill.
Expert 4 stands out as a particularly annoying course because it does something no other level does; like the Star Trek reboot, it has unnecessary lens flare. Not only does this level force you navigate around inch-sized pathways, the glare of the sun gets in the way so you can't see. In case you forgot, there is no lens flares in video games! The developers put that in on purpose to make an already harder level even harder!
Just to make it worse, the stage lags! How are you expected to complete a level that requires this much precision if it slows down at random intervals?
