10 Video Game Moments So Difficult They Were Just Unfair
3. F-Zero GX - Cosmo Terminal
When players are asked what is the hardest track in a racing game, Rainbow Road for the original Super Mario Kart springs to mind. The reason why is simple; the track contains no guard rails, meaning that nothing is stopping you from falling off the edge if you veer offtrack.
However, the Cosmo Terminal course from F-Zero GX is much, much harder. Not only does this track also lack guard rails, the course keeps splitting into three roads and you have to quickly decide which road to go down. Since your craft can move at 3,000+ miles per hour (which can make you dizzy) while you're navigating around 29 other racers, you need hairline precision to avoid falling to your doom.
Oh yeah! That's the other thing. If you get knocked off the race in Mario Kart, Lakitu will be nice enough to place you back on track. If you fall off on F-Zero, it's game over. You can try and make it easier on yourself by knocking the other racers off the track so you have less opponents to race against. But misjudge it one time and you can hurl yourself off to your death.
