10 Video Game Movies That Could Genuinely Work
3. Just Cause
Taking a Just Cause movie seriously would be a mistake. A massive mistake. All you would have to do to get a Just Cause movie right, is make it as overblown and excessive as possible. It would have to be a proper 80s action movie, full of impractical stunts, excessive explosions, vast amounts of unrealistic shooting, and hilariously bad puns.
It could be something quite spectacular. A lot of it would have to rely on visuals, and the story-telling would be minimal. The movie would live and breathe upon over the top action. Removing the restrictions of the game mechanics would also allow for some impressive set-pieces. Imagine the ludicrous situations the game allowed you to pull off, only on steroids.
Making it an all-out parody could also work. It would be fun to see a movie's take on a completely unrealistic video-game. Poking fun at the actual game whilst also being excessively insane itself.
Get Arnie to play the villain and you have yourself a blockbuster.
