10 Video Game Movies That Could Genuinely Work
2. Fallout
Fallout would only work if they used the world and ideas of the franchise an not the story elements. The games are far too intricate to work on the big screen and almost solely rely on the player's interaction with said story. New Vegas would be a poor movie because its story is driven by the player and how they choose to do things.
But if it was dialled back to a far more self-contained experience, it would be excellent. A simple survival movie framed by the creative world of the games. A smaller story that followed a family as they tried to survive, or even a group of friends, would be far better than the all out war of the series.
The focus would be on the world. Hone in on super-mutants, radscorpions and deathclaws. Explore the Brotherhood of Steel, synths and Vaults. Take the world and put it on the big screen, instead of taking the story.
Please, please, please, don't make a New Vegas movie... No one wants to see that car crash.
