10 Video Game Movies That Wouldn’t Definitely Suck

Whilst this would technically count as a ‘video game movie’, the fact that it’s Batman, a comic book character who’s had plenty of movies already, might help it overcome the strange video game movie curse. Asylum is one of the best superhero games ever made; showcasing a cast of classic Batman villains against a claustrophobic backdrop of the infamous Arkham Aslyum facility, with a combat system that has been copied by countless other games since.

There are rumours that the upcoming film, ‘The Batman’, will take elements of the game by setting it mainly in the asylum, so a full-blown film version of the game might not happen any time soon.

But if it did, a film adaptation of Asylum would take some work, as there’s no way any superhero film could get away with that many villains (Joker, Scarecrow, Bane, Poison Ivy AND Killer Croc, just to name a few), but with some good story editing and inspired casting, an Arkham Asylum film would no doubt appeal to the majority of superhero fans.

Also, with the sequels City and Knight, there’s a full trilogy of games to adapt for future movies. If the current DC cinematic universe flops, Arkham Asylum would be a great place to start the reboot.
