8. Síle de Tansarville (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)

Geralt and sorceresses are always a volatile mix, but seeing this happen to one of the most powerful magic users in the series is heartbreaking.

Síle was a founding member of the Lodge of Sorceresses and a major antagonist in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. However, if you chose to spare her in that game, you'd find her in a far different state in The Witcher 3, and it's one you can spare her from.

In Wild Hunt, you run into Síle in Radovid's Oxenfurt prison, having suffered grievous wounds, almost entirely unrecognisable save for her iconic chest tattoo. It's clear she won't live long, which is why she asks you to give her an honourable death.

Now, Síle was certainly responsible for a lot of spilled blood. But, she was an influential person in the shape of the world and Geralt's life, so providing her with a merciful end was something you felt obliged to do.

If you decided not to, she'd still die anyway, except Yennefer would be the one doing it.
