6. Knights Of The Old Republic II - How Is The Ebon Hawk Repaired So Quickly On Malachor V?

It is a running joke throughout KotOR 2 that Atton Rand always crashes whatever ship he’s flying, so when the Ebon Hawk crash lands on Malachor V no one is surprised, probably not even Atton.

In the game’s closing act, the Ebon Hawk crash-lands on Malachor V, impacting the planet at high speed and coming to rest wedged hard between two cliffs. As seen in the cutscene, the fuselage is crumpled and rock has sheered through the hull. Worse, a subsequent earthquake dislodges it, sending it plummeting into an apparently bottomless chasm.

Despite this a completely undamaged Ebon Hawk emerges from the depths to rescue the Exile. How this happened is never explained. Assuming anyone on board survived the fall (all did, somehow, survive the crash) and got the engines were still working, they could not possibly have buffed out the dings by hand.

True, Obsidian were forced to rush KotOR 2, but even so, they could at least have used the same damaged model for the escape sequence. There’d still be a headscratcher here, but at least we wouldn’t be saddled with a continuity error on top if it.
