10 Video Game Reboots You Didn't Know Were Happening

The legendary dinosaur-themed FPS franchise Turok has actually already been rebooted, with 2008's middling reimagining from Propaganda Games.

Though it sold well, the closure of Propaganda in 2011 caused an in-development sequel to be cancelled, and we've seen nothing from the series ever since.

But now Turok is finally back with a second reboot - Turok: Origins.

Announced at the 2024 Game Awards, this new take on Turok comes by way of Saber Interactive (World War Z, Snowrunner, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2), and will signal a few firsts for the series.

For one, Origins marks a shift to third-person gameplay, and will introduce a three-player co-op campaign said to be in the vein of Saber's Space Marine 2.

Saber has however promised fans that they'll be treating the IP "respectfully" even with the upfront changes, and while there's sure to be understandable skepticism from some, considering Turok hasn't been doing much of anything for almost 20 years, a reinvention could be just what it needs.

Given the brilliance of Space Marine 2, Saber at least clearly has the chops to do the series justice.
