10 Video Game Reveal Trailers Better Than The Final Release

1. Watch Dogs

One of the most hyped up games of all time, Watch Dogs quickly gained attention for being the first next-gen release that players were shown. Being unveiled before the Xbox One and PS4, the title promised a completely new experience that pushed the possibilities of gaming technology forward.

With amazing graphics and a tantalising hacking twist that promised to shake up the open world formula, right up until its release Watch Dogs rode the hype of its initial announcement trailer, even when other reveals gave players a reason to worry about the quality of the title.

Of course, players should have been worried, as even on new machines the game couldn't come close to matching the ambition of that first vertical slice. Especially when it had to also work on old hardware, there just wasn't enough juice in the consoles to realise the vision seen in the trailer, both in terms of visual fidelity as well as the dynamism of the title's gadgets and hacking.
