10 Video Game Secrets That Will NEVER Be Revealed
3. Pokémon Gold And Silver's Unown Pokédex
Pokémon Gold and Silver was the first introduction of the Unown, at least within the video games. They are extremely unique in the sense they resemble letters of the alphabet but at the time, not much was known about them. Later iterations included exclamation and question mark editions.
They are so special the game even provided the player with a unique Unown Pokédex to record all encounters with them. Upon solving puzzles, one would appear, thus allowing them to be bested or captured. Once they had all been obtained, the player is then able to print them out using a Game Boy Printer.
During Gold and Silver, there were only 26 Unown available yet after catching them all, there is a curious 27th spot left empty. Since later games introduced the exclamation and question mark versions, it is highly unlikely the empty spot was intended for either of them.
This led to much speculation about the missing Unown, with some even theorising there was an Unown King floating around somewhere. However, since the 27th one was never revealed in later games, no one truly knows whether this was a glitch or a secret that will now never be revealed.
