10 Video Game Secrets You Weren't Supposed To Find

2. The Hidden Sign (Grand Theft Auto 3)

The only entry on this list that literally tells you you weren't supposed to find it, Grand Theft Auto 3's hidden sign is one of the most infamous secrets in video game history.

Discoverable by following a complicated series of steps including parking a car at the top of some stairs in Bedford Point and using said car to jump onto a nearby roof, the sign was first found in an alleyway in GTA III, and read "you weren't supposed to be able to get here you know."

It isn't clear why the sign was put here or why this area is accessible in the first place, but it's possible that the supposedly off-limits alleyway was discovered too late in development for it to be fixed, so the devs just put up a funny little warning instead.

Weirdly enough, the sign later returned in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for the PSP and PS2. It reads "Hello again!" in the PSP version, and "You just can't get enough of this alley, can you?" in the PS2 version.

Changing a bit of text? Easy. Removing an "inaccessible" part of the map? Too much bloody work.
