10 Video Game Sequels We’d Totally Get Stupidly Excited About

6. Devil May Cry

Spyro the Dragon
Capcom

DmC: Devil May Cry – a name which has not gotten any better – was a great game. It’s an unpopular thing to say, but it’s the truth. The heavy-metal soundtrack was exhilarating, the combat was thrilling, and the story was gripping with its modern-day alternative.

However, it had three major flaws:

Vergil, who was once a tragic antagonist driven mad because of failing to protect his mother, was made into an honour-less snob. Kat was a forgettable love interest. And Dante became an emo; a jerk about as dull and uninspiring as a My Chemical Romance album.

We want the old Dante to return. The pizza-loving, silver haired, and dual gun-wielding badass who could get under the skin of any demon with his wisecracking one-liners. He is coming back for Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite, but it’s not enough. A new adventure with Trish, gothic landscapes, and incredibly fun and difficult boss battles is a must to properly please us Devil May Cry fans.

After Hideaki Itsuno, the director of Devil May Cry 2, 3 and 4, teased working on a new game, people have anticipated a fifth Devil May Cry. Although many were disappointed by it not being revealed at E3 2017, a proper return for Dante is likely. And when the iconic red leather coat and silver-hair is eventually glimpsed in a teaser trailer, we will all squeal like school-girls.
