10 Video Game Skills You Won’t Believe You Had To Unlock

8. Walking Right - Evoland

As Evoland is a game that relies of steadily allowing you to unlock new features to show the development of RPGs since their creation, it makes sense that some of the early chests you find are very basic things.

But you might not expect the first one - because it literally unlocks your ability to walk right, before you can unlock the insane ability to walk left.

It sets the tone for what the rest of the game will be quickly and effectively, but it's also completely wild.

Because Clink, your protagonist, isn't just a puppet for the player to control. He's a character with a past and lore that you learn along the way - which makes the fact that he learnt how to walk to the right in his teens vaguely worrying. Otherwise, the only explanation is that the game is teaching you how to walk Clink right, which is somehow even more patronising.

There's no way of missing these chests, at least, so you can't bumble around for an hour or two desperately walking only right.
