4. Atton Rand - Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II

When you first meet Atton Rand, you have zero reason to believe him to be anything more than the Han Solo-lite your first impression paints him as. Which Atton is totally fine with, seeing as how he's in actuality a former Sith lord who was specially trained to be a deep cover agent in Jedi controlled space.

His flirty rogueish persona was a deliberate smokescreen, hiding the generally negative aura that comes second nature to Sith in a haze of other, more ordinary personality flaws. The guy's been following your character, The Exile, around, basically for a laugh.

This is brilliantly shown to the player through little bits of dialogue, as well as the performance of Nicky Katt, who plays the deception well, but with a noticeable falseness. It's as if Atton is acting this way because he thinks this is how a flirtatious rogue is supposed to be, and those holes in his demeanour only reveal themselves over time.
