4. Immortality - Crusader Kings II

Crusader Kings II is a real-time grand strategy from Paradox Interactive in which you get to play as the world’s most famous medieval monarchs.

The game is heavily based on historical events, but it also features plenty of supernatural secrets, the rarest and most dangerous of which will have you seeking eternal life.

The secret immortality trait is arguably one of the strongest perks your character can get in Crusader Kings II. The trait, as you may imagine, prevents your character from ageing, allowing you to rule your kingdom without having to worry about succession laws and letting you improve their abilities for centuries, making them far more skilled than any other person alive.

The downside of it, however, is that acquiring immortality is extremely dangerous and happens only to the lucky few. The event that triggers the quest for eternal life has an extremely small chance of occurring in your game, and then the stakes only get higher.

The person seeking to live forever has to go through three luck-based trials, each of which can end with their untimely death.

With a chance like that, you should probably cut the “im” out of “immortality.”
