10 Video Games Bosses You Weren’t Supposed To Find

3. Hades - Final Fantasy IX

Another of the incredibly hard to find existing bosses is Hades, the hidden gem of Final Fantasy IX.

It's thought that the god of the dead was intended to be the final boss of the game, but was instead relegated to being a secret superboss so that the Necron could instead take that spotlight. Given that Necron is hated by a considerable portion of the fanbase, it's questionable as to whether this was the right choice.

Because Hades is so hidden away that you have a microscopic chance of finding him unless you already know the method of discovering him.

Said method involves going to Memoria, entering the ocean room, and then moving offscreen behind a rocky outcrop to your right. Doing so and then examining the area unlocks dialogue - specifically, Hades' dialogue, where he basically tells you to step off or get ready to fight him.

Refusing to leave provides you the last optional boss fight of the game, which is made an absolute cakewalk if you already fought the comparatively easy to find Ozma.

That said, if you manage to defeat the big orb before Hades, he will comment on it - which is a reward, if the smallest reward ever.
