10 Video Games You Can't Explain Without Sounding Like A Psychopath
3. Postal
Good luck explaining: How this even got made. So far every game we've included here is actually completely worth your time, for any number of reasons ranging from solid gameplay to unique worlds or just individual moments that are worth seeing - such is not the case with the Postal series; a trilogy of games made to be as lazily insulting as possible. Edgy and controversial comedy can be some of the best in its entire medium when done well - just take one look at guys like Louis CK or Doug Stanhope for example - but there's a huge difference between scripts and acts that are laboured over to be as biting and thought-provoking as possible; and that of just, well, peeing on everything. Naturally developers Running With Scissors (the perfect name all considering) used the same defence for their game as what Rockstar regularly do - except the latter actually have something to say constructively; in that the game only presents a world of possible interactions and it's up to the player to choose how to go about their day. In the end the games were so tongue-in-cheek they left an exit wound, but it didn't take away from how lazily-made the whole thing felt. With a movie tie-in being one of the worst films of all time and the first two games still banned in Brazil and New Zealand, this is a series best left dead and buried in a pee-soaked grave - it's probably what it would've wanted anyway.
