10 Video Games That Are IMPOSSIBLE For Newcomers
6. Eve: Online
Even LOOKING at Eve Online makes my palms sweaty.
This game is so intense and so absolutely punishing for new players that it's a wonder anyone even bothers to try and get to grips with it. In a genuinely shocking moment of my life, when I asked a friend to show me how to play he laughed before calling his friend in who'd been playing the game for ten years for them both to laugh at me.
What make the experience so horrible for newcomers isn't just the fact that getting to grips with the controls of the game is like trying to solve a Rubix cube with boxing gloves on, but that you're not just "playing a game" as instead you're entering into a world with a thriving community and horribly real economy, and people who've made careers from this game aren't exactly enthused when a noob rocks up trying to steal, shoot or gob their way through things.
If you're not part of a company in this title then you're nobody, and it's not like invitations come readily. Eve Online is a brilliant experience, but one that only really gets going when you're two years deep minimum.
